Poor Performance unter Irix 6.5

I'm running,

glib/gtk 1.28 with wxWindows 2.2.1 and python 1.6

it seem's for me, that the gtk demo's are fast,
the wx-demo's are much slower - there was
noch bench, but the same applikation run's
with pc/nt rather fine.

i compiled all things with egcs/gcc,
is there a switch, option or something,
should i better

sorry, but we have no way to verify what's going on without having access to IRIX ourselves - try using profiler if the performance is really that bad (but upgrade to the latest version first just in case)
